THAT THOUGHT OF INDEPENDENCE DAY

The Rain was just a drizzle today,
Wetted the ground of mud and clay.
My mind was filled with thoughts unclear,
I got up in the morning, much earlier.

Looking at the calendar what is the day,
Oh I remember, it’s the independence day.
The day for which our leaders fought,
They gave their lives for us to live without any drought.

Bhagat Singh was the one who held the sword,
Jawaharlal Nehru was the one who made his pen a mighty sword.
Both had the same mission,
Putting the western culture in the prison.

Jallianwala Bagh was a nightmare,
Not giving up was the only thought we wear.
Go back Simmon was our call,
This attempt made the western culture fall.

They sacrificed their own life,
For us to strive.
We salute to them,
As they are the true gem.
